Section 1: The Basics
What is The Beacon?
The Beacon is a monthly online video and challenge designed to help ordinary people better understand the impact of AI and the future of work. It’s accessible, human and practical – and it’s delivered at a local level, one town at a time.
Who is it for?
The Beacon is for curious, thoughtful people not techies or specialists. It’s designed to engage residents from all walks of life, especially in places that are often left out of innovation and upskilling efforts.
What do sponsors actually get?
Sponsors get a personalised town page with their name and logo featured prominently. This page hosts a monthly 20-minute video episode, a practical challenge and your branding – all aligned with a forward-thinking, positive message.
Section 2: who can sponsor?
Who is eligible to sponsor?
Anyone with a reputation to maintain and build. Sponsors include local businesses, professionals, social enterprises, public sector teams, national brands and elected representatives. If you care about your community and your reputation, you qualify.
Is this only for companies?
Not at all. Individuals, like local councillors, coaches, teachers, or retirees, can sponsor a town just as easily. Sponsorship is about visibility and contribution, not company size.
Can we sponsor more than one town?
Yes, in fact, some sponsors choose to support multiple towns in their area or region. Just ask about availability. There’s a small discount for 5 or more.
Section 3: What’s Included
What exactly is included in the sponsorship?
You get a dedicated web page for your chosen town, branded with your logo, your preferred link and a short sponsor message. This page is updated monthly with a fresh video episode and a practical challenge.
What do residents see?
They see a warm, welcoming page focused on their town. Your name is clearly visible as the sponsor. They watch a 20-minute episode and are invited to take part in a challenge. That’s it – simple and effective.
Are we involved in producing or approving the content?
No, content is created and curated independently to ensure consistency and quality. But your feedback is always welcome, especially if you spot opportunities to improve.
Section 4: How It’s Delivered
How do people access the page?
Each town has its own private URL, shared locally via email, social media, word of mouth and community partners. No logins or downloads, just click and watch.
Is there any tech involved?
Nope. The Beacon is intentionally simple. No apps, no platforms, no passwords. Just a webpage with a video and a challenge updated monthly.
Who manages the page?
We do. Once your sponsor info is set up, we handle the rest – publishing monthly content, updating your page and keeping everything running smoothly.
Section 5: Visibility & Promotion
Where does our logo appear?
Your logo is clearly featured at the top of your sponsored town page, along with a short message and a clickable link of your choice.
Will our name be mentioned in social media posts?
Yes, when relevant, we’ll highlight sponsors in posts about that town. You’re also welcome to share your sponsored page as part of your own social media or PR strategy.
Can we use our sponsorship in our own marketing?
Absolutely! We encourage you to proudly promote your support of The Beacon – it’s great content for LinkedIn, newsletters, press releases and even internal communications.
Section 6: Practicalities & Access
Is this a public or private page?
It’s unlisted, meaning it’s not indexed by search engines. Only people with the link can access it, giving sponsors more control and avoiding unwanted traffic.
Do we need to log in to update anything?
No. You just provide your logo, message and link when you sign up. After that, we handle all updates including the monthly episodes.
How often is the page updated?
Every month, a new 20-minute episode and challenge are added to the page – with no extra input needed from you.
Section 7: Impact & Value
What’s the real-world impact of sponsoring The Beacon?
You’re helping your community stay informed, confident and hopeful about the future of work and AI. It’s practical, empowering and human.
How does this benefit our organisation?
You get visible, meaningful CSR. You look smart, generous and genuinely invested in your community’s future – not just your bottom line
Is there any way to measure results?
While we don’t offer detailed analytics, you’ll benefit from visibility, shareable content and informal community feedback. It’s long-tail value, not vanity metrics.
Section 8: Limitations & What’s Not Included
Can we request bespoke content?
No, to keep things consistent and scalable, content is universal and not customised per town or sponsor.
Are there interactive features?
No forums, comments or accounts. Just a clean, thoughtful experience with a video and a challenge. That’s by design.
Will we get user data or emails?
No, we don’t collect or share personal data. The Beacon is a low-friction, no-tracking experience.
Section 9: Getting Started
How do we get started?
Email Jon or book a quick call. We’ll confirm your town’s availability and get your sponsor page live in a few days.
What does it cost?
£1,000 + VAT per town, per year. One simple invoice with no hidden extras or upsells.
What do we need to send you?
Just your logo, a short sponsor message and the link you want users to click. That’s it.
Can we cancel or get a refund?
No refunds, but you’re not locked in beyond 12 months. At the end of the year, you choose whether to renew.
